Sealing and varnishing the wood
Now for making it pretty. I am sealing the wood with a new mixture, the other side was sealed with the basic Interprime wood sealer. I read about a sealing method that is excellent for creating a deep, dancing mahogany finish, so I tried it here. It calls for laying down roughly 6 layers of a 2:1 linseed oil/tung oil mix, with a splash of JapDry for good measure, with wet sanding and buffing for the last couple layers. It seems to work out nicely so far. Here, as usual, are the pics. I can't really tell which ones are just with oil and which are with varnish... they are all shiny looking. But here they are nonetheless.
