I saw this picutre in Passage Maker Magazine this weekend. Just an interesting reminder that not all the boating community has a decent idea about the theory and practice of knotwork.

if you wanna see a freakin ratsnest of locking hitches, check out just about ANY YACHT DEALERSHIP on Lake Union!
oh and I'm passive-aggressively messing with them by gasket coiling any lines lying around unflaked (hanging the water, stuffed between benches, etc.).
that'll teach 'em!
